Infants

Infant Program: Ms. Katie

My name is Katie Tanis and I am happy to have your child in our infant class this year. I would like to begin by telling you a bit about myself.  I graduated from EVCC with my Associates degree in Arts and Science and am currently working towards getting my degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been employed at Country Dawn since December of 2018. Before working at Country Dawn I worked, for a year, as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I have an Australian Shepherd pup, named Zoe, at home. I am excited for this school year and look forward to getting to know you and your child.

Our main goal at Country Dawn in the infant program is to help your child on several skills throughout the year.  We will be working on tummy time, rolling over, sitting up, pulling up and eventually walking.  We like to get creative, on occasions we will have projects or an activity involving painting and coloring.  Throughout the day we will read books and sing songs.  As they start being more independent and moving around more on their own, during the spring and summer we have outside play, weather permitting. When this time comes around, we will send home a sunscreen form for each child. We play an array of nursery rhyme music as well as music from different cultures to incorporate diversity in the classroom.  If there are any specific details or goals you would like us to work on with your child, please feel free to let us know.

I forward to meeting and getting to know you and your child in the infant room.
