Preschool Program: Ms. Rita
Welcome to Preschool! I am looking forward to meeting all of the new children and welcoming you into our class. I am very excited to start the new school year and to implement some new ideas into this year’s program.
For those of you who don’t know me, let me tell you about myself. My name is Rita Truman and I am the Full Day Preschool Teacher. I began working at Country Dawn in 1992. This is my 15th year working in the full day preschool Class. During my time at Country Dawn I have worked in almost every room including the Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, Enrichment, Infant, Summer Fun Programs and the Desk. Working with children in their wide range of developmental stages and areas has given me the experience necessary to understand and cater to each unique developmental stage. I continuously attended workshops and training seminars that help to further my education and also learn exciting new ideas to make our classroom and program even better. I am annually certified in CPR and maintain qualification in first aid. I have also just went back to school for my teaching degree.
I would like to tell you about my educational background and goals. I graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1992. After high school I attended Everett Community College where I studied early childhood education and development, and other general studies. I took some time off when I got married in 1996 to my husband Justin. In 2000 we had our son Nate. What a joy to our family he has been. Nate is currently in 9th grade and doing great. I love to sit with a good book; I also enjoy camping, hiking, and just about any sport.
My goal will be to help your child learn and develop in all areas. I believe positive self-esteem is crucial to every child’s development. Initially, we will focus on making sure the children feel comfortable with their new environment, and ensuring that they have a strong positive self-image. Then social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development will be pursued while ensuring each child maintains his/her positive self-esteem. I have planned developmentally appropriate activities through which each child can be creative and expressive, and develop at his/her own unique level.
I am happy to announce that we will be having Spanish Class every Monday starting in late September. This allows us to enhance our teaching capabilities and to expand your child’s learning opportunities. The Sno-Isle Library representative visits us monthly, and we are privileged to have stories, puppets, and new library books provided to us each month. Happy Feet, a soccer activity is available on Wednesdays.
I am excited about the year ahead of us. Throughout the year we will be learning, growing, exploring, and having a great time in the process. Thank you for the opportunity to work with your children.
If you have any questions, concerns, or comments please do not hesitate to talk with me.
Preschool Program: Ms. Eva
Welcome to Pre-School! My name is Eva Rios and I will be your child’s teacher this fall. I am very excited to start our year together. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child; I know we will have a fun, educational, and overall exciting year! This year is an important step in your child’s education to begin a love for learning and discovering new things.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am mother of two wonderful boys, Mason who is four and is entering Pre-K and Evan who is a year old. I have a loving husband named Hector. We live a very busy and exciting life.
I have a degree in Early Childhood Education. I have worked at Country Dawn since 2012 and have been lucky enough to work in preschool the entire time. Along with my degree I have also completed my 20 hours STARS training and am certified in CPR, AED and First Aid. While attending Everett Community College I took many classes some of them are Child Development, Family Dynamics, Home School and Community Relations, Intentional Teaching, Language and Literacy, and Applications of Math and Science. These classes will help me with providing the best learning experience for your child.
My main goal for your children while in pre-school is to make sure that they feel safe and welcomed in the classroom. The first few weeks of school have a lot to do with transitioning into our new schedule and learning our new classroom rules, it’s a fun and busy time. Communication is such an important factor; each month you will receive a newsletter via email that lets you know about our themes for that month, important events, and any special activities we have planned.
If you have any questions, concerns, or comments please don’t hesitate to ask. Thank you for the opportunity to be working with your child.
