Kindergarten Enrichment: Ms. Amber
My name is Amber Van Natta, I will be taking over as lead teacher of the Kindergarten Enrichment Program here at Country Dawn. I am very pleased and excited to have this opportunity to help your child explore, learn and grow, as I have always had a passion for teaching and really admire this age group.
I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know all of you. I would like to take a moment to share a little bit about myself. I am a mother of five, two biological and three soon to be step, Jhade who is 17, Mackenzie who is 10, Faith who is 16, Dominique who is 13, and Sylas who is 12. I am also very proud and excited to announce that I will be getting married this coming July 2017.
My background information: I graduated from Lake Stevens High School class of 2000. After high school I went on to work as an administrator for a non-profit organization. I have since gone back to school and am currently working toward my associate’s degree in Technical Arts and Early Education at Everett Community College, and plan to be graduating fall of 2017.
Information about our Enrichment Program: We will start off by having group time, where I will take attendance, reflect on the children’s day, read a book, discuss weekly jobs, and go over our calendar for the day. Our classroom will focus on monthly themes, of which the children will be engaging in several art projects. We will have fun experimenting with different science projects and cooking lessons. During free choice the children will be able to expand their social skills as they interact with one another through play with, board games, Legos, Lincoln logs, kitchen play, cars, and lots of other manipulatives. We will have fun movie Friday, each week a different students name will be chosen to bring a (G or PG) movie of their choice from home to watch with the rest of the class.
Here at Country Dawn we value the safety and education of all our children, if ever there is anything I can assist your children with please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m truly very excited and look forward to a great year. Thank you!
